Jess Hixson has been working in nonprofits since 2012. Her passion for bringing communities together around a cause has shone through her work with the Jamestown Arts Center in Rhode Island where she began her nonprofit career through to her most recent position with the Maine Council on Aging as the outreach coordinator, advocating for food security and social connection.

Jess has also served the public as a librarian for many years and is a substitute at the Camden Public Library as well as a contractor for Maine Media's library. She holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in library science. She enjoys snowboarding and trail running and is eager to learn new sports at MRC!
