A Maine native, Jesse Simko has been teaching sports for over 24 years. Jesse started playing hockey in Old Town before playing for Brewer and then P.V.H.C.. He started instruction at the age of 14 where he was a demonstrator at the Andrews Hockey Growth Programs in Prince Edward Island, Canada. That summer sparked a passion to help others through sports and he’s been following those desires ever since.
He’s since been a Senior Instructor at Andrews, played Prep School Hockey at Lawrenceville and Junior Hockey with the Penbay Mariners. Jesse finished his college education at the University of Maine at Orono where he received a B.A. in Psychology and received Minors in Business Administration and Philosophy. He completed his Senior College Thesis in Sports Psychology by conducting a sports psychology experiment at Andrews and has taught hockey internationally in Norway and Canada.
Jesse has been an assistant coach with CHRHS Hockey, Head coach of CHRHS Tennis and has run successful skating development programs for the Storm and MRC. He is a Level 4 coach and has completed the Hockey Director Certification with USA Hockey and is excited to bring the cutting edge science of athlete development to our kids in the Midcoast. Passionate about allowing kids to have fun and reach their fullest potential through an athlete-centered approach is what Jesse brings to the table and he is excited to help youth hockey continue to develop here in the Midcoast.
