Michele
Orne
Board Member
Michele has lived in Camden with her husband since 1990. They raised four children here and have all enjoyed participating in many ice hockey, tennis and fitness programs at MRC since its inception. Michele received a B.A. in Economics and Fine Arts from Yale University and worked in the New York garment industry as a designer and production executive for many years. She is also a published professional knitwear designer in the handcraft market. Michele is currently creative director and a managing partner at Swans Island Company. She has enjoyed volunteering in the community as board president of Peopleplace Coop Preschool, and with Youth Arts as a board member, classroom instructor and project manager of two major art installations in local public schools. She served as president of the Camden Hills Ice Hockey team boosters for ten years and currently serves as a Yale Alumni Schools committee member. In her free time, she enjoys tennis, yoga, painting and knitting, and remains an avid hockey supporter and fan. Michele is happy to serve on the MRC board in gratitude for the valuable community space and family-friendly activities MRC has provided to so many over the years.
