Seth has been working as a full time tennis professional since 2001. A native of Augusta, Maine, he played for a state championship high school team at Cony High School and then furthered his education with a BA from the University of Maine. Upon graduation, Seth moved to Oregon and was a full-time teaching professional at the Tualatin Hills Tennis Center in Beaverton, Oregon where he coached in many capacities, including high-level juniors.
Seth and wife Erin, returned to Maine in 2005. He was hired as the Tennis Director and Head Pro at MRC that same year. Seth was named Tournament Director of the Year by the Maine Tennis Association in 2012, 2013, and 2016, Maine’s number one in mixed doubles in 2012 and number one in New England for men’s doubles in 2013. Seth and his family run two annual benefit tournaments; “Serving To End World Hunger” and “Serving To Prevent Homelessness”. To date these events have raised over $400,000 for charity. MRC was named Indoor Tennis Facility of the Year by the Maine Tennis Association in 2013 & 2017.
In addition, MRC was honored by the USTA New England as Organization of the Year in 2017. The Meyer family was honored to receive the “Tennis Family of the Year” in 2018. And most recently (2021), Seth was recognized by the Tennis Channel’s Topspin as one of the top 50 tennis coaches in the U.S.
In addition to his role at MRC, Seth works for the USTA as the Local League Coordinator for Maine. Seth is also the Board President for Tennis Without Borders. He is both USPTA and PTR certified.
He looks forward to the continuing challenge of making MRC live up to its fullest potential. Seth, wife Erin and son Will currently reside in Camden.
