Ice Hockey

At Midcoast Recreation Center, we believe that hockey should be fun! We're committed to teaching our youngest skaters the basics of skating, stick, and puck skills all while having fun with friends. A love of hockey lasts a lifetime, and it all starts right here!

Learn to Play Hockey

Learn to Play Hockey is the perfect starting point for any child interested in playing hockey, even if they've never been on the ice before, teaching the fundamentals of both ice skating and hockey, getting kids comfortable moving about the ice in full hockey gear.

Middle School Girls Hockey

Our Middle School Girls Hockey program provides a fantastic opportunity for girls ages 11-14 to develop both their skills and confidence on the ice. Throughout the course of our 12 week season, players will focus on learning hockey fundamentals, including skating techniques, stick handling, passing, and teamwork.

Players of all abilities are welcome to join, whether they are new to the sport or already have a few years of experience. By fostering a supportive and encouraging environment, the program helps these young players grow not only as athletes but as individuals, preparing them for future challenges both on and off the ice

Storm teams are divided by age groups and skill levels. These skill levels include Tier III and IV Travel teams and Tier IV House teams. Tier IV House teams play all their games at MRC, while Tier III and IV Travel teams  play throughout Maine, with the potential to travel to tournaments outside the state. The regular season runs from early-October through mid-March.

For more information, visit the Maine Coast Storm website!
