This program is for children who are ready for the next step after Learn to Play Hockey. The program is designed to get kids ready to join our 8U hockey program. This program includes 40 practices, Jersey, Socks, 2 practices per week and optional game on Saturday mornings.
Program Goal:
We follow the American Development Model (ADM) with station based practices that are designed for Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD). Our goal is for our kids to find joy in the game and set a great foundation for their future success on and off the ice.
Additional Info:
Each player needs a USA Hockey number in order to be on the ice.
BEFORE you register, please go to USAhockeyregistration.com and register through them. The confirmation number that you receive in the response email (9 digits followed by the first 4 letters of your child's last name) is the number you will need before registering for a program.
Equipment Info:
A full set of hockey gear is required for kids to play on the ice. MRC offers full sets of gear for kids to borrow for the season at no extra cost, as long as it is returned at the end of the season in March. Parents will be required to fill out an Equipment Rental form for any gear borrowed.
Any child borrowing gear will need to be fitted for it. Emails will be sent out a couple of week before the season begins with a link where you can sign up for a gear fitting time. If you register within a week of the program beginning, please plan to arrive no later than 1 hour prior to the program ice time to be fitted for gear.
For new hockey parents, below is a link to a website with great parental resources, including hot to get dressed!

Info for Parents:
Please arrive 30 minutes early to ensure you have enough time to check-in and get dressed for practice. Please stop by the Front Desk to make sure they have everything they need for registration, payment, and waiver.
Children can get dressed in our raised seating area, bleachers, or the two locker rooms that will be available. Locker rooms should always be used for any changing into undergarments.
