Court Rentals
Pickleball Court Rentals take place on our indoor tennis courts, with each tennis court consisting of two pickleball courts. You are renting both pickleball courts when booking a court, which can accommodate up to ten people.
If you choose to share or split your rental with another group, you are welcome to make a private agreement with them, but the primary party is responsible for the payment to MRC.
Courts can be booked in person or over the phone. We recommend booking a court before coming in to MRC, as we cannot guarantee court availability.
Pickleball Court Rentals only take place on courts 3 and 4 in our, can be booked up to two weeks in advance, and must be pre-paid for. Cancellations must be made at least 24-hours in advance to receive a refund.
All players on the court must have a current facility waiver on file. Online waivers can be filled out here.
Pickleball Open Play
Levelled Play
Levelled Play is similar to Open Play, but with a higher intensity and more structure, provided by a pickleball pro who creates games in which players are matched with others of their approximate level. Organization may vary by session: challenge courts, ladder play, seeded singles, pre-set round robins, skill-based sessions and more. Pre-registration and attending is critical as the structure is built around the roster.
-
Open – All are welcome to attend. New to MRC? Shoot an email to pickleball@midcoastrec.org with an indication of your experience and/or level.
-
Intensity: 2/5
-
-
Advanced – Designed for advanced players to test their skills with others at their level. Structured to allow for the most competitive and balanced games.

Intensity: 5/5

Open Play
Open Play is just that, open to everyone who understands the rules of pickleball! Partners are determined through paddle-stacking, winners stay on the court & split allowing new players to join. Players who win twice in a row step off if there are others waiting.
Pre-registration is requested, as there is often more demand than space allows. To register, click on the red "Register" button at the top of the screen.
We have intensity options for Open Play:
-
All Levels – Super friendly, welcoming all levels (as long as you know the rules). Focus is on honing skills and having fun. Great for new players and an excellent place for intermediate players to work on new skills.
-
Intensity: 1/5
-
-
Experienced – This is the place for seasoned players who have a firm grasp of the game & want to play with a variety of players in mixed-level games. Games are competitive, however targeting the weaker player and icing out are frowned upon.
-
Intensity: 2/5

No-Call, No-Show Open Play Policy
Due to the limited number of spaces MRC is able to offer for Open Play, this fall we are asking that everyone who registers for an Open Play session arrive on time, or call 24 hours in advance to cancel.
If you are going to arrive to Open Play more than 10 minutes late, please call our Front Desk and notify them. As long as you have notified the Front Desk before the 10 minute limit, you will keep your spot and can play for whatever length of time is left in the session when you arrive! If you do not call and notify the Front Desk, while you will still be charged for the session, 10 minutes after the session starts your spot will be forfeited and given to the next person on the waitlist.
In addition, if a person is a "no-call, no-show" twice in a given month, they will lose their next two Open Play registrations.
